FAYETTEVIL­LE — Kay Hollingswo­rth,

76, of Fayettevil­le, formerly of Harrison, passed peacefully on August 4, 2021, ending her courageous fight with Alzheimer’s.

Kay was born on April 6, 1945, at Marshall, the daughter of James Ray and Betty Jean Lewallen Atchley. Kay lived in Harrison much of her life before moving to Diamond City to live on the lake. Kay was a graduate of Harrison High School and the University of Arkansas. Kay was passionate in serving her communitie­s and served on the Harrison City Council for 1975 to 1988 and the Diamond City Council from 2009 to 2010. Kay loved the lake, hiking and floating on the Buffalo River, the Ozarks and the natural beauty of Boone County Area. Kay was preceded in death by her parents, James Ray and Betty Jean Atchley and her husband, Paul Brice Veasmen.

Kay is survived by her aunt, Inis Mae Atchley; her older brother, Jimmy Atchley; sisterin-law, Patty Atchley and her two sons, Chance and his wife, Corie, of Little Rock and Gabe Hollingswo­rth of Fayettevil­le. Kay was known as “KK” to her three granddaugh­ters, Cate, Rinn and Saer and her grandson, Hunter.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, October 30th, the Bill Baker Amphitheat­re at the North Arkansas College. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery for Kay and her late husband, Paul Veasman. Arrangemen­ts are under the direction of Holt Memorial Chapel.
