HOT SPRINGS — Dennis Clifft,

-

75, of Hot Springs, passed away August 8, 2021. Born in Little Rock Ark., to the late Jack and Ruth Clifft, Dennis graduated from Little Rock Central in 1963.

Dennis proudly served as a member of the Arkansas National Guard. He was deployed to Japan after the USS Pueblo was captured by North Korea in 1968. He was Honorably Discharged in 1969, and settled in Hot Springs, where he met his future wife, Shelly.

Dennis, a born salesman, worked for Kimberly Clark, Earl Gill Enterprises, and eventually retired from Lorillard Tobacco Company. A lover of British automobiles, he was a former member of the British Motoring Club of Arkansas. He also loved drag racing and watching old cowboy movies.

Shelly and Dennis were married June 2, 1973. Together, they shared over 48 years of faith, friendship, and family. Shelly and Dennis’ son, Matt, passed away June 15, 2021, and was there to greet his dad in Heaven. Matt probably said, “Hey Dad- what are you doing here already?”

Those who will miss Dennis most are his wife, Shelly; daughter, Donnae (Steve) McFadin; sisters, June Bulger and Kay Brown; brother, Larry (Kay) Clifft; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and more friends than any one person should be allowed.

A Funeral Service Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at 1 p.m. will be at Gross Funeral Home in Hot Springs, Ark. Honorary Pallbearers include Jean Oliver, Tom Floyd, Leland Felix, and Lance Felix.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Sunshine Therapeutic Riding Center, 174 Crews Lane, Pearcy, Ark. 71964.
