MALVERN — Elsie Marie Tillery,
82, of Malvern, Ark., went to be with her Lord and Saviour Sunday, August 8, 2021 at CHI Saint Vincent Hot Springs, Ark. She was born December 21, 1938 to W.H. (Bill) and Corda Mae Duncan near Stuttgart, Ark. She attended Gardener Elementary and Jr. and Sr. High School in Hot Springs, Ark. She graduated from Fountain Lake High School, Hot Springs Ark., in 1956. On June 27, 1957 Elsie married the love of her life, Jack Gary Tillery Sr. She worked as Secretary to Mr. Sigun Rasmussen a Hot Springs Attorney, retired as Secretary, Glen Rose Elementary then later worked at Schrimshires Tax Services and Sub Teach USA. She was a member of the Glen Rose Missionary Baptist Church where she served as Sunday school teacher and secretary, church clerk, choir member, ladies auxiliary, Kids For Christ, VBS Director and teacher.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter and son-in-law Diana and Charles McCauley; son-in-law, Martin Watkins and sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Ersel Tillery.
Loving survivors include her children; June Watkins of Swartz Creek, Mich.; Gary and Kelly Tillery, of Benton, Ark.,; Greg and Audra Tillery of Malvern, Ark.; her grandchildren, Sable and Joel Gabrielsen of Arkansas, William McCauley of Arkansas, Andrew and Rebecca Watkins of Michigan, Allen and Madison Watkins of Arkansas and Bradley and Brodey Tillery of Arkansas; one brother and sister-inlaw, Bill and Debbie Duncan of Texas; her great-grandchildren, Charleston, Bennett, Levi, Holden, Mason, Addyson, Ezra and Hazel; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, August 20th at Glen Rose Missionary Baptist Church, 928 Traskwood Road, Malvern, Ark.
The Celebration of her Life and Home-going will be 2 p.m., Saturday, August 21st at Glen Rose Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Maxie Haynes and Bro. Dillon Miller officiating.
Burial will be at Antioch Cemetery, 13211 Danville Road, Lonsdale, Ark., 72087.
Pallbearers are Joel Gabrielsen, William McCauley, Andrew Watkins, Allen Watkins, Bradley Tillery and Brodey Tillery. Honorary pallbearers are her nephews, nieces, Glen Rose Deacons and members, Fountain Lake class of 1956 and the Beckwith family.
