passed away from heart related issues on August 18, 2021 just shy of his 93 birthday. He was born in Old Washington, Ark., on September 2, 1928 to Joseph Jackson and Annie Lou Stingley Jackson. He attended Henderson State University in Arkadelphi­a, and then saw frontline action as a Corporal in the U.S. Army in Korea. Stingley retired from the commercial division of Arkla Gas Co in 1985. He and his wife, Becky, spent many years RV traveling during their retirement. His family and friends loved him for his sharp wit, vast knowledge, and kind and loving ways. He was loved wherever he was known. It’s been said that he could repair just about anything.

Stingley was preceded in death by his parents and his three brothers: Earl, Joseph L, and Kenneth. He also was preceded in death by his son, Shawn Stingley Jackson, on August 2, 2021. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rebecca McCuller Jackson; three children: Jill (& Charles) Dunlap of Little Rock, Jana Leigh Funderburk of Little Rock (engaged to Tim Johnson of Council Grove, Kan.), and Joseph (& Leslie) Jackson of Benton, Ark. Stingley also leaves behind 12 grandchild­ren: Christi, Drew (& Ami), Caleb, Caitlin, David, Caroline (& Joseph), Justin, Callie Anna (& Chris), Catherine, Nathan, Christophe­r and Mariah. The Jacksons have six great-grandchild­ren: Stella, Tristen, AJ, Kody, Elizabeth, Eleanor, and one expected in December.

A memorial service for Stingley Jackson will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Immanuel Baptist Church, 501 N. Shackelfor­d Road in Little Rock, where he was a member, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel.
