70, of Jacksonvil­le, Ark., passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021. He was born on August 22, 1950, in Hamilton, Ohio.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence E. Burger and stepmother Pat Burger; mother, Joann M Beaver; and stepfather, Don Beaver; stepbrothe­r Jerry “Sparky” Beaver; brother, Rick Burger; and his grandparen­ts.

Larry is survived by his wife of 40 years, Nancy Burger; children, Kristina James (Bret), Jeffery Burger (Cindy), and Brian Burger (Shannon); grandchild­ren, Kylia Harrell, Jessica Burger, and fiance, Ryan, Blake Spencer and fiancee, Mariah, Sara Burger, Shaylee Spencer, Brooklyn Burger, Baylie Burger, and Taylor James; great-grandchild­ren Makenzie Harrell, Marshal Harrell, Blakely Spencer, Charlotte Spencer, and Reese Girouex; siblings, Peggy Kennedy, Gary Burger, Jay Beaver (Jackie), Tracy Beaver, Paul Burger (Jeri), and Winney Champenoy (Bill).

Larry was born in Hamilton, Ohio, and moved to Omaha, Neb., at the age of six months, where he lived until 1991, when he and his wife moved to Jacksonvil­le, Ark. Larry was the proud owner of Poppas Pastry for 17 years. He was an adamant sports enthusiast. He coached an elite eighth grade basketball team, The Gladiators, attended his sons’ sporting events, played softball, loved fishing with his daughter, golfing at Hickory Creek Golf Course, and was a member of the local Bass fishing club. He was an avid Husker fan, and went to most of the College World Series games. He was a pillar of strength to his family and a loyal friend to many.

A funeral service will be held in Jacksonvil­le, Ark., on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 6 p.m., beginning with a visitation at 5 p.m. at A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonvil­le, Ark. 72076.

An additional funeral service will be held in Omaha, Neb., at Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Friday, August 27, 2021, starting with visitation from 12 to 2 p.m. followed by funeral service at 2 p.m. Burial to immediatel­y follow service at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
