WILLIAM “LLOYD” MOBLEY,

died peacefully at home August 17, 2021. Lloyd was the son of the late Alma Elmore and William Lawrence Mobley. Born February 3, 1930, Lloyd was predecease­d by his wife, Lucille Highfill Mobley who died in 2001. Lloyd was born in Traskwood, Arkansas. His family later relocated to Little Rock where he attended public schools. He was a graduate of Little Rock High School and was a veteran serving in the Army from 1951-1953.

Lloyd had a long career in the service of others. His congenial personalit­y was reflected in his extensive career. Lloyd and Lucy were long-time residents of Russellvil­le. He worked in the banking industry and later managed the Howard Johnson Motel. They moved to Texas to manage other properties in Mt. Pleasant and Paris, Texas. Upon returning to Russellvil­le, they bought and he managed Lloyd’s Jewelers. Later, they made their residence in Little Rock. Lloyd was involved in the hospitalit­y industry at the Little Rock Visitor Informatio­n Center at the Bill and Hillary Clinton Airport. He always greeted everyone with a joyful heart and a welcoming smile. He was a member of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church where he spent many hours volunteeri­ng.

He loved his family and is survived by his nieces, Jane Mobley Turney (Howard) of Little Rock, Joy L. Williams (Grady) of Conway, and Dana Reeves (Clay) of Fort Smith. He is also survived by his nephew, Mike Mobley (Tasha) and sister-in-law, Mary Mobley, of Benton. Great-nieces include, Meredith Reeves and Sara Reeves of Ft. Smith and great-nephews, Howard “Bo” Moose Turney, Jr. (MollieKate) of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Reid Mobley of Benton. He leaves behind his wonderful canine companion, Baxter. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Lawrence “Larry” Mobley and Danny Mobley, and niece, JeJo Mobley. Special thanks to Dr. Richard Houk for his medical care over the years and to Thom Battles, a loyal friend and caregiver.
