STAR CITY — Holland Thomas Linzy,

54, of Star City, passed away at Jefferson Regional Medical Center on August 18, 2021, after a courageous fight with COVID-19. He was born December 19, 1966, to Holland and Marie Linzy of Star City.

Thomas graduated from Star City High School. He was employed by the City of Star City for many years. He was a member of the Volunteer Fire Department and was an auxiliary police officer for the City of Star City.

Thomas was an avid outdoorsma­n. He loved hunting, fishing, and most of all he loved taking his family and friends with him. He never missed an opportunit­y to introduce anyone to his passion. He always loved a new adventure.

Thomas never met a stranger. He was willing to help anybody. Thomas loved his community and always put others before himself.

Preceding him in death were his father, Holland Linzy.

Survivors include his mother, Marie Linzy of Star City; son, Blake Moore; grandson, Aiden Moore; granddaugh­ter, Addison Moore; a brother, Ricky Linzy; four sisters, Donna (Curtis) McTigrit, Karen (Tony) Hankins, Debbie Priest, and Tracy (John) Haynes; along with numerous nephews and nieces that he considered his “babies”; and several close friends.

Due to COVID-19 concerns, all services will be private. Bro. Thomas McGriff will officiate. Pallbearer­s are Chris Ryall, Luke Priest, Travis Rushing, Hunter Aldridge, Daniel Blasengame, Ben Reeves, Jamie Merritt, Jeremy Donaldson, Keith Threlkeld, and Dustin Blasengame.
