STUTTGART — Barbara Joan Eichler Wessels,

of Stuttgart, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 19, 2021. She was born April 16, 1933, in Stuttgart, and graduated high school there.

She married Wayne P. Wessels in 1956, and they were married almost 62 years before he passed away in 2017. She loved her family and her church family. She was one of two of the last members of Wabbaseka United Methodist Church when it closed in 2019. She had been a member there since 1956 and served in many different capacities including being the church pianist for many years. Over the years, she enjoyed many different hobbies and was always exceptiona­l at anything she undertook. She also loved her Razorbacks and was ready to watch them anytime they played.

Mrs. Wessels was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne P. Wessels; son, Larry D. Wessels; her parents, Johnie Eichler, Doris Wheeler Cox and Coreen Wheeler Wise; granddaugh­ter, Julie Wessels; brothers, Neil, Roland and Rick Eichler; sisters-in-law, Jearlin and Lillian Eichler; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Wessels. Survivors include her son, Scott Leon Wessels (Kaye) of Stuttgart; sister-in-law, Donna Wessels of Humphrey; seven grandchild­ren; 18 great-grandchild­ren; many nieces and nephews; and her best friends, Mildred Dabbs and Gloria Ferrara.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m., Sunday, August 22, 2021, in the chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son in Pine Bluff with Reverend George Mitchell officiatin­g. Masks will be required.
