-

Hall was born September 22, 1930 in Fordyce, Ark., to the late Mack Henry and Esther Jane (Thomas) Smith. She departed this life on September 14, 2021; 3:34 pm, in Little Rock, Ark., at the Heart Hospital. Sarah graduated valedictorian of her 1949 class at Dallas County training school in Fordyce, Ark., substitute teacher in Fordyce and Bearden school districts for 25 years spanning from 1994 through 2019.

Sarah enjoyed gardening canning what she harvested in the garden to be placed on the county fair Exhibits. She always received blue ribbons for her entries and sometimes “The Best of Show” ribbons to be placed on the white picket fence for all to see. It brought her joy to sit on the front porch with family and friends reminiscing about old times. In recent years she became an avid TV watcher. Shows like; the price is right, family feud and Judge Judy, and several sporting events especially the Razorback (hog) teams. She became a member of the Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church at an early age where she remained faithful until her health began to decline. She was joined in Holy Matrimony to James Wallace Hall, Sr., in July 1950. They spent 52 happy years together before his death in 2002. To this union seven children were born. She leaves to cherish her memory: six children: James Wallace Hall, Jr. (Ruby), George Larry Hall (Carrie) and Debra Faye Thompson (Jimmy) all of Fordyce, Ark., Gloria Gene Harris and Kathleen Cole (Rickie) both of Little Rock, Ark., Mary Lucy Williams (Robert) of Monticello, Ark., 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
