WEDNESDAY Master Gardeners Online Training
Registration is open for the Arkansas Master Gardeners program’s online fall training. Five sessions will be conducted via Zoom from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Sept. 29, and Oct. 6, 20 and 27. The $75 fee includes the Master Gardener handbook. Trainees will learn about basic botany, soils and fertilizer, pest control, landscape design, vegetable and fruit gardening, annuals and perennials, and more. THURSDAY College Planning Program
RUSSELLVILLE — An Arkansas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers College Planning Program, hosted by the Arkansas Tech University Office of Admissions, will be offered to high school students from the Arkansas River Valley to provide them with information from universities, colleges, vocational-technical schools and military branches. The primary session will be from 9-11 a.m. at the John E. Tucker Coliseum, 1604 Coliseum Drive, and a financial-aid session will be conducted from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the Doc Bryan Student Services Center Lecture Hall, 1605 Coliseum Drive, with a discussion about scholarships, grants, loans and how to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. FRIDAY Chili Bowl and Silent Auction
RUSSELLVILLE — The River Valley Arts Center, 1001 E. B St., will present its Chili Bowl and Silent Auction at 6 p.m. Tickets, at $40 each, include a chili dinner donated by Brangus, a large variety of toppings, an adult beverage, dessert and a handcrafted pottery bowl made by the Arts Center’s students and pottery teacher Soyoon Ahn. RUSSELLVILLE — Arkansas Tech University will present Family Day 2021 to show its appreciation to the family members who love, support and encourage ATU students.
A 2 p.m., guardians and family members of current ATU students can pick up complimentary

Saturday Showcase at Arkansas Tech
RUSSELLVILLE — A Saturday Showcase at Arkansas Tech University will provide high school students and potential transfer students with insight about the academic and campuslife programs available at ATU. Activities will include a welcome session at 2 p.m., followed by breakout sessions and a campus tour; a fair with information on Tech academic programs at 4 p.m., as well as pregame tailgating festivities on the Crabaugh Hall lawn; and a Wonder Boys football game at 6 p.m. in Thone Stadium at Buerkle Field, with free admission to Saturday Showcase participants and registered guests.
