LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Manuel Campalans Chirinos,
age 84, died peacefully surrounded by his daughters on Saturday, October 9, 2021.
Manuel was born in Caracas, Venezuela, on August 6, 1937, to Manuel Campalans Ballus and Marta Julieta Chirinos Campalans. After graduating from high school, he went to college at Southern Arkansas State and met his future wife, Nancy Martin. Together they had three girls, Karla, Olivia, and Rebecca. They spent the first 17 years raising the family in Caracas, Venezuela. In 1979, they moved to Arkansas and made it their home.
Manuel loved to spend his free time working in the yard and creating a natural habitat for his backyard birds. He also loved to spend time in his workshop coming up with projects or repairing things. He was a lifelong supporter of National Geographic and PBS Nature. His love and appreciation for the natural world was passed on to his daughters.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy Martin Campalans; his parents, Manuel and Julieta Campalans; his brothers, Enrique and Luis Campalans; and his sister, Conchita “Bebi” Fuster.
He is survived by his daughters, Karla, Olivia, and Rebecca Campalans; and much-loved grandchildren, Alexander, Madison, Natasha, and Sofia.
The family would like to offer their gratitude and appreciation to the care given by the staff at Tender Loving Care, in Las Vegas, Nev., for treating our father with kindness, dignity, and respect.
There will be a small service for immediate family members only. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation be sent to your favorite environmental or animal charity. As a tribute to him, go enjoy bird songs outdoors, and dispose of any litter you find along the way. You may share memories and condolences on his tribute wall at Las Vegas Cremations website.
