BENTON — Janet Delaine Burks Collier,

age 66, loving wife, mom, and Me-Me, departed this life on Sunday, October 31, 2021, to go to her Heavenly Home with Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior.

Janet was born May 15, 1955, in Malvern, Ark. to her parents Harold Homer Burks and Bernice Hunnicutt Burks, who both preceded her in death.

Janet is survived by her husband of 44 years, Tommy H. Collier; son, Alan Collier and wife Stacy; daughter, Anne Morgason and husband Richard; brother, Steve Burks and wife Diane; sister, Jeanette Cunningham, husband Jeff, and niece Kate; four grandchild­ren, Levi Morgason, Leia Morgason, Alex Collier, and Charlee Collier; and a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearer­s will be Keith Warford, Russell Warford, Preston Warford, Mitch Newcomb, Nathanial Collier, Samuel Collier, Seth Collier, Gary Lynn, Levi Morgason, and Alex Collier.

Janet was a long-time member of Cross Roads Missionary Baptist Church before becoming a member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School Secretary. She thoroughly enjoyed working with the youth in the AWANA program. She had a secretaria­l degree from Ouachita Vo-Tech in Malvern, Ark., and worked as a secretary for the Arkansas Juvenile Assessment Center, Alexandar, Ark., until the birth of her first child. At that time, she became a fulltime homemaker. She was an excellent seamstress, and enjoyed her pets, water skiing, snow skiing, and camping while being fully involved in church work and doing things with her children and grandchild­ren. Janet also worked at Ten Mile Grocery and Deli on Highway 70 for several years. Her battle with cancer and the aftermath of radiation and chemo treatments over the past 16 years finally took its toll on her life.

Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday, November 7, in the Fellowship Hall at Sharon Missionary Baptist Church, 402 Shenandoah Drive, Benton, Ark. 72019. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 8, at Cross Roads Missionary Baptist Church, 10019 Lily Drive, Benton, Ark. 72015. A private interment will be held by the family at Ten Mile Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to “Street Ministry Luke 9:58”, 7414 Palm Beach Avenue, Benton, Ark. 72019 (Tax Receipts Available).
