WARREN — Charles Thomas O’Neal,

age 94, of Warren, Ark., passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Bradley County Medical Center in Warren, Ark. He was born August 22, 1927 in Warren, Ark., to the late Prather Green O’Neal and Myrtice Baker O’Neal. Charles was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon, Treasurer, and Sunday School teacher. He was employed by Potlatch for 44 years. He worked at the Southern Saw Mill, W & OV Railroad, Southern Retail Yard, Southern Lumber Company and Potlatch Corporation. He was on the Bradley County Medical Center Hospital Board serving as president for 30 years. He was Treasurer of the Hospital Foundation Board for 18 years and served on the Warren School Board for 8 years. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers: Clinton O’Neal and Marvin O’Neal. Survivors include his beloved wife of 73 years, Betty Lou Herring O’Neal of Warren, Ark., two daughters; Pam Wharton and spouse Dr. Joe Hank Wharton of Warren, Ark., and Judy West and spouse Jerry West of Warren, Ark. Four grandchildren: Charles Davis Wharton and spouse Sarah of Centennial, Colo., John Taylor Wharton and spouse Amanda of Warren, Ark., Jaye West Hembree and spouse Bo of Warren, Ark., and Justin Wayne West and spouse Tricia of Warren, Ark. Eight great-grandchildren: Weston Hembree, Braxton Hembree, Ty Hembree, Avery Wharton, Max Wharton, Lainey Wharton, Mattie West and Ryder West. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Sunday, November 14, 2021, at Immanuel Baptist Church. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1 p.m., until service time Sunday, November 14, 2021, at Immanuel Baptist Church.
