Blood drive slated for Argenta Plaza

The Arkansas Blood Institute will host a community blood drive in Argenta Plaza from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.

Those interested can find the “bloodmobil­e” parked out in front of the plaza and will be given a free T-shirt and covid-19 antibody test for donating blood.

Arkansas Blood Institute encourages those interested in donating blood to schedule an appointmen­t beforehand online.

Rental assistance begins in county

Rental assistance for Pulaski County residents and landlords began Monday through the Arkansas Rent Relief Program.

The program, funded through $173 million in federal money, offers financial help to people affected by the covid-19 pandemic.

The Pulaski County Renters Relief Program will no longer take new applicatio­ns. Anyone looking for rental assistance can apply through the Arkansas Rent Relief Program.

North Shore Park gets new sidewalk

North Shore Park has a new sidewalk.

The sidewalk off of Saunders Road near Lynch Drive is one-third of a mile long and 5½ feet wide.

The sidewalk, built by Cinergi Contractio­ns, also has an Americans with Disabiliti­es Act approved ramp.
