HEBER SPRINGS — Logan Carrol Collins,

-

passed away peacefully on October 29, 2021. Logan was born in Palestine, Ark., on November 26, 1940. He graduated from Forrest City High School. He joined the Arkansas National Guard at the age of 14 and then served in the Army. He went on to graduate from Arkansas State University in 1972 with a degree in Business Administration. On November 2, 1968, Logan married his wife of almost 53 years, Linda, after knowing her only six weeks. They had two daughters, Lesley and April. Logan raised his family in Cabot and then retired in Heber Springs after working for almost 20 years as an investigator for the State of Arkansas.

Logan was an outdoorsman. His home in Heber Springs was perfectly situated so that he could see Sugar Loaf Mountain out his living room windows and be at the river or lake within minutes. He maintained an immaculate yard and spent hours outside with his beloved dogs, Mazie and Baxter at his side. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and watching the many birds that frequented his bird feeders. He was an avid Arkansas Razorback fan. Logan’s family often joked about his obsession with the news and history channels, and he never shied away from a healthy debate about politics, world events, and anything Razorback. Always an adventurer, in 1997 Logan earned his pilot’s license. Logan was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, whose presence, opinions, and guidance will be sorely missed.

Logan is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred “Pete” and Mildred Collins and son-in-law, Clark Leslie. He is survived by his wife, Linda of Heber Springs, his daughter and son-in law, Lesley and Jeff Ardemagni of Keller, Texas, his daughter, April Leslie of Maumelle, and his four grandchildren: Presley “Peanut PP” Turner and her husband, Ryan, Alex Ardemagni, Hannah Leslie, and Bryce Ardemagni. He is also survived by his brothers, Donald Collins and Alfred Collins and his wife Margaret of Bald Knob, and his sister, Bessie Jean Carver and her husband Terry of Judsonia, and several aunts, nieces, and nephews. He is also survived by his lifelong best friend, Jim Beckham of Las Vegas, Nevada. Jim was Logan’s first boss after graduating college and they quickly formed a very special bond that Logan always treasured.

A private celebration of Logan’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Arkansas Cremation. www.ArkansasCremation.com.
