Dr. JOSEPH A. HALE, SR.,

age 93, of Little Rock, Ark., departed this earthly life to be with our Father in Heaven on Monday, November 8, 2021, at St. Vincent Hospice Center in Little Rock. He was born on November 13, 1927, in the community of Boughton, Ark., to George and Beulah Hale. He dedicated his entire life to his passion in pursuit of teaching and ensuring the education of others. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Doris Strickland Hale, of Little Rock, who mourns his home-going. His children who mourn his loss and will miss his counsel are Donita Hale (Raymond) Heaggans and Sonja Hale (Theodis) Howard, both of Maumelle, AR, Cheryl Hale (Wendell) Young, of Rockwall, Texas, and Joseph A. Hale, Jr., of Little Rock. He has 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home of Arkadelphia, Ark. Visitation will be on Friday, November 12, 2021, at Mitchell Funeral Home in Arkadelphia from 12 noon-3 p.m. Family and friends hour will follow at St. John Baptist Church in Little Rock from 5-7 p.m. The home-going service will be on Monday, November 15, 2021, at Macedonia Baptist Church in Prescott, Ark., at 1 p.m., with a lie in state one hour prior to service time for final viewing.
