PERRY SCOTT,

-

92, of Little Rock, died Monday, Nov. 8, 2021, with his family at his side. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Perry successfully balanced dual careers in photography and real estate. He was a medical photographer at Little Rock’s VA Hospital for 30plus years while also becoming a local realtor, working most recently with RPM Group. He found a passion for photography early in life and always said he felt exceedingly fortunate to have turned his hobby into his profession. Throughout his life he pursued myriad interests with the same gusto, handcrafting speed boats in the 1960s, immersing himself in the PC revolution in the 1980s and, in retirement, becoming an avid long-distance cyclist. A native of Hot Springs, Perry served in the 6th Infantry of the Arkansas State Guard while attending Hot Springs High School and later attended Henderson State Teachers College. Soon after he moved to Tulahoma, Tenn., where he met the woman who would become his wife of nearly 70 years. But first, he enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed in Greenland for a year during the Korean War. On his return stateside in 1952, he married Jo Jenkins and they moved to Rome, N.Y., where he completed his service while they started their family. They relocated to Little Rock in 1955. He was a longstanding member of First Baptist Church; a Razorback fan who, along with Jo, spent each fall attending home and away games; and founder of a local chapter of the ROMEO Club, Retired Old Men Eating Out, a small group of close friends that met monthly for lunch. Born March 23, 1929, Perry was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Mark Scott; and sisters, Juanita Pappas and Virginia Stringer. He is survived by his wife, Jo; son, Rick Scott; and granddaughter, Ashley Groshong (Danny). A visitation and memorial service will take place Monday, Nov. 15, at 1 p.m., at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Arkansas Baptist Children’s Homes and Family Ministries. Online guestbook: www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/chenal
