TRASKWOOD — Hershel Hawthorne,

age 78, of Traskwood, passed away Friday November 12, 2021. He was born November 28, 1942 in Traskwood. Hershel was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Loeta Norman Hawthorne Terry, wife Tammy Hawthorne. He was of the Methodist faith. After graduating from Chiropractic College in Davenport, Iowa and waiting for Licensing in order to practice, he worked at various jobs including working for Rhode Island Railways, Grissom Metal Works, and the State of Arkansas Department of Mental Health. After a short time working in Louisiana, Hershel returned to Arkansas to begin his career as a Plant Operator at Arkansas Power & Light Company, where he retired. Surviving children; Harper Bingham and husband Doug, Hershel Hawthorne II, Jason Hawthorne, Mary Wills, Joshua, Nicholas, William and Kody Davidson, sister, Carolyn Robinson, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Monday November, 15, 2021 at Ashby’s. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, November, 16, 2021 at Ashby Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Fairplay Cemetery.
