The University of Arkansas at Little Rock led wire-to-wire in its second of two games at the Jacksonvil­le (Fla.) Classic, hanging on for a win despite leading by 26 points with a little less than 12 minutes remaining.

After holding the Huskies (1-4) to 23.1% shooting from the field in the first half, UALR (4-2) added to its 3418 halftime lead with a 16-6 run. Forward DeAntoni Gordon scored nine of his team-high 16 points in the opening half, led the team with nine rebounds, and he was one of three Trojans to log a pair of blocked shots.

Nikola Maric finished with 15 points in 26 minutes and contribute­d 7 rebounds. SWAC MEN

SEATTLE 77, UAPB 56

SEATTLE – Riley Grigsby led a second-half charge as Seattle (4-1) pulled away to beat the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

The junior forward scored 13 of his 21 points after halftime for the Redhawks, who were locked in a 31-31 tie at intermissi­on before taking off.

Cameron Tyson had 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Darrion Trammell and Kobe Williamson each had 12 points for Seattle, which outrebound­ed the Golden Lions 41-29 and held a decision 36-22 advantage on points inside. The Pilots also shot 28 of 60 (46.7%) from the field.

After a free throw from UAPB’s Brandon Brown tied the game at 44-44 with 13:05 to go, Grigsby’s jumper sparked a 23-5 run that put Seattle in control. During that stretch, the Golden Lions missed 10 shots in a row. By the time Brown sank two free throws with 2:32 remaining in the game, UAPB (0-5) was staring at a 17-point deficit.

Brown finished with 17 points and 17 rebounds for UAPB, which hit 18 of 53 (34%) shots overall and went 3 of 21 (14.3%) from beyond the three-point line. Shawn Williams scored 16 points and Trey Sampson had 12 points. SUN BELT WOMEN

ARKANSAS STATE 73, SE MISSOURI STATE 65

Senior Trinitee Jackson made her presence felt in the post Monday night, sparking Arkansas State University with a double-double — 25 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the field and 15 rebounds — at the Show Me Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

It was the second double-double in as many games for Jackson, who helped ASU (3-2) outrebound the Redhawks 48-36. SEMO (1-3) led after a quarter, but Jackson scored four points in the final minute of the second quarter as ASU led 31-29 at halftime.

The Red Wolves entered the fourth quarter up 52-49, never relinquish­ing their advantage despite a tense finish.

Keya Patton matched her career high with 17 points, making it four consecutiv­e games in double figures for the Auburn transfer. Morgan Wallace added 11 rebounds for ASU.

Roshala Scott carried the Redhawks with 14 points off the bench.
