of Vilonia, passed from this life on November 29, 2021, he was 68. John was born August 25, 1953, in North Little Rock, Ark., to John M. and Helen M (Herbert) Pitts. He was of the Assemblies of God faith. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and going to horse shows, but he was always happiest spending time with his family, especially his grandchild­ren. John had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed aggravatin­g and playing practical jokes on family members, especially his sisters, just for sport. His mother and a sister, Janice Yancey preceded him in death. Left to cherish his memory are his father, John M. Pitts Sr. and wife, Frances of Wynne; children, John Pitts III and wife Chaney of Vilonia, Kristi Matte and husband Jonathan of Missouri. Other survivors include grandchild­ren, Damian, Rayna, and Asher Matte, Izayah, Tehgaan, and Kendall Pitts, William and Jared Alexander and one on the way, siblings, Judy Van Pelt and husband Rickey of Jacksonvil­le, Terry Pitts and wife Tami of Lonoke, and Jerry Pitts and wife Kelly of Illinois, along with a host of other extended family and friends.

Graveside services will be 3 p.m., Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Bayou Meto Cemetery in Jacksonvil­le. Visitation will be from 12 until 2 p.m., at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street, North Little Rock, Arkansas, 72114, prior to the service. Izayah Pitts, Brandon Pitts, R.J. Murray, Kendall Pitts, Jared Alexander, William Alexander, and Wayne Yancey will serve as pallbearer­s. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, P.O.
