CAMDEN — Richard “Rock” Parrish,

left this earth on December 4, 2021, at the John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital. Rock was born to Billy Buck Parrish and Betty Lee Parrish (Word) on May 23, 1945, in Camden, Arkansas.

He graduated from Camden High School before serving his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Upon completion of his service, Rock attended Southern State University. Rock was an avid hunter, fisherman, and houndsman who loved the outdoors. He enjoyed buying, selling and collecting antiques, firearms and other wares. He also enjoyed attending his grandkids’ games and events and he loved spending time with his family and friends. Rock was a loving father, brother, and uncle, and a friend to many.

Preceding Rock in death were his father, Billy Buck Parrish and his mother, Betty Lee Parrish (Word). Survivors include his sister, Sue Cochran of Sulphur, Louisiana, husband Phillip and their children Jason and Bethanee Cochran; son, Jarrod Parrish of Little Rock, Anna Carol and grandchild­ren, Mason and Aubrey; son, Joel Parrish of Bentonvill­e Melissa and grandson Grayson; and former spouse, Jan Parrish of Little Rock. Visitation will be in the fellowship hall of Harmony Grove Methodist Church, 446 Ouachita 43, Camden, Arkansas, at 12 p.m., on Saturday, December 18, 2021, with a memorial service to follow in the sanctuary at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the American Humane Associatio­n, the ASPCA or the local no-kill animal shelter of your choosing.
