CABOT — Robert “Bob” Moyers,

-

71, of Cabot, Ark., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, surrounded by his wife and children. He was born June 12, 1950, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to the late Robert Merlyn Moyers and Alice Marie (Tiney) Edwards. Bob lived in Cabot where he attended Cabot High School and graduated in 1968. He mastered the art of being social at a young age and spent the rest of his life turning every stranger into a friend. Bob was a tremendous athlete in school, senior class president, voted class favorite for five years and held the title of “most handsome” his senior year of high school.

Bob attended the University of Central Arkansas where he also played college football and graduated with a bachelor’s degree. Bob met his eternal soulmate, Sharon (Walker) Moyers on January 27, 1973, and they married on July 24, 1976. They have been inseparable for the last forty-eight years. They have three children, Doug, Scarlett, and Brittany. Bob would always say how much he loved his wife and that he was blessed with the most beautiful family. Bob was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He dedicated his life as a servant of the Lord by giving selflessly of his time and his abilities to all. He was a genuine, loyal, and kind-hearted man but he was also high spirited with a strong will and a competitive drive. He believed in putting in his best effort to reach the highest level of success in all that he did, and he encouraged his family to live the same way. Bob was nicknamed “Tuffy” at a young age and referred to in his later years by his dear friend as “Bobby Do Right”. Bob was the best storyteller, and if you knew him well, he could recall any event or any person, down to the most finite detail. He truly loved his family, friends, and neighbors with all his heart; they were the center of his life.

Bob is survived by his wife, Sharon (Walker) Moyers of Cabot; his two children, Scarlett Melikian (Patrick) of Cabot, and Brittany Moyers-Logue (Jud) of Cabot; four grandchildren, Bailey and Parker Melikian of Cabot and Morgan and Jackson Logue of Cabot, and a great-grandchild, Walker Henschel of Cabot. He also leaves his siblings, Bill Moyers (Sue) and Sharolyn Morphew of Sandy, Utah, and a host of many family members. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Merlyn Moyers and Alice Marie (Tiney) Edwards and his son, Robert Douglas “Doug” Moyers.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Jacksonville. Interment will follow at Hicks Cemetery in Lonoke. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Monday, December 13, 2021, at Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816. Please sign our online guestbook for the Moyers family at: www.moorescabotfuneralhome.com.
