LINCOLN — Billy Joe Moore,

age 79, a resident of Lincoln, Ark., passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022, in Lincoln, Ark. He was born August 1, 1942 in Potter, Ark., the son of Earl and Onie (Simmons) Moore.

Billy held a Masters Degree in Agricultur­e from the University of Arkansas, where he was also a member of Alpha Zeta, Alpha Tau Alpha, Epsilon Sigma Phi, and Gamma Sigma Delta. Billy worked for the University of Arkansas Plant Pathology Department for 18 years, and then for 19 years and 9 months for the Cooperativ­e Extension Service.

He was active in 4-H, Cattlemens Associatio­n, various Garden Clubs, and was on the Board of Directors for Sebastian County Farm Bureau.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, William David Moore; one brother, George Moore; and two sisters: Dora Sue Freeman and Earlene Howard.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Pamelia K Moore; five children: Debbie Moore Smith and her husband Robbie of Cape Coral, Fla., Melissa Moore of West Fork, Ark., James Humphreys and his wife Paula of Dallas, Texas, Patricia Diddle and her husband Roger of Lincoln, Ark., and Kevin Humphreys and his wife Melonie of Decatur, Ark.; one sister, Katy Smith of Mena, Ark.; numerous grandchild­ren, great-grandchild­ren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Friday, February 18, 2022, 2 p.m. at the Central United Methodist Church in Lincoln, Ark.
