PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

-

BOYS GUARD AUSTIN MYERS, VILONIA

■ The do-it-all senior put together a banner week for a Vilonia team that’s started to rack up wins. Myers scored 32 points and pulled down eight rebounds Tuesday to pace the Eagles past Mountain Home 53-36. Three nights later, he followed that up with 23 points, including five threepoint baskets, in his team’s 61-39 win over Greenwood. That victory was the fourth in a row for Vilonia.

GIRLS FORWARD JORDAN MARSHALL, LITTLE ROCK CENTRAL

■ The 6-footer is playing at a level that resembles nothing like a sophomore. Marshall averaged 22 points over a pair of games for Central, which has quietly put together an impressive season. She scored 18 points, including 11 in the first half, to help the Lady Tigers fend off Bryant 55-50 on Tuesday. On Friday, she tallied another 26 points during a 55-46 victory over Cabot at Boone-Fitzpatrick Fieldhouse.
