ST. PAUL, Minn. — Benjamin Wheatley Burton,

-

45, formerly of Benton, and Fayetteville, Ark., died March 15, in his adopted hometown of Minneapolis, Minn. Ben was the beloved son of Roger and Pam Burton of Fayetteville, who both survive him.

Other survivors include his three sisters and their families: Sidney Burrow (Mike) of Hot Springs, and Lindsay Schupbach (Marcelo) and Erin Burton (Alfredo Lock) of Fayetteville. Ben is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives. After graduating from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville with a Bachelor of Arts in music in 2001, Ben earned a BA in accounting at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock in 2003. He then worked using his astute, meticulous accounting skills employed by companies both in Arkansas and Minnesota.

A loyal Razorback fan, Ben enjoyed watching the Hogs compete in many sports and discussing it with family and friends who supported the team as well. He also followed with interest the St. Louis Cardinals and Minnesota Twins.

A gifted pianist and music aficionado, Ben appreciated the musical arts in many genres. If he became interested in any subject, such as cryptocurrency, he soon learned as much about it as he could and shared his expertise with family and friends. A complex individual, Ben faced his various life challenges with the love and support of his family and the recovery community. He, therefore, had a deep compassion for individuals on that same journey and was quick to generously offer encouragement and support to others just as he had, with gratitude, received it. Memorial gifts can be made in Ben’s honor to Magdalene Serenity House in Fayetteville, Northwest Arkansas Food Bank, or the charity or nonprofit of the donor’s choice.

A family service will be arranged at a later date. To sign the online guestbook, please visit: www.bernafuneralhomes.com. Arrangements are by Moore’s Chapel in Fayetteville.
