BENTONVILLE — Dana “Joey” Jones,
73, was born to the late James Owen and Donice Jones in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on May 6, 1949. He passed peacefully on May 6, 2022.
Joey graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration (1972) and a Master of Education (1976) where he met and married his late wife, Daire Kathleen O’Neal. The two lived together and raised their family in Bentonville, Arkansas, where he worked for Walmart Stores Home Offices (1978) until he retired(2008). Joey was a mentor, teacher, and model to many young business leaders and has a lifetime membership to the Future Business Leaders of America which he chartered as a teacher at Bentonville High School. Joey also served as the Senior Warden at St. Andrews Episcopal Church and was instrumental in the construction of the Columbarium Garden in Rogers, Arkansas. Joey is survived by his daughter, Danielle Harvill, Austin, Texas, her husband, Travis Harvill and their children, Lucas, Logan, Leila and Lauren. His son, Joseph Jones, Shreveport, La., his wife, Terrance Jones and their children, Braden, Piper and River. His sister, Janet Stansell Jay, Okla., her husband, Joe Stansell and their children, Terra Stansell, Tulsa, Okla., her husband, Bill Snyder and Cody Stansell Jenks, Okla. His great-nieces, Beth Gabert, Kaci Mills, her husband Larry Mills and their daughter Ruby. He is also preceded in death by his parents, James Owen and Donice Jones, his wife, Daire Jones, and niece, Kerry Dempwolf. Joey will be laid to rest next to his wife in the Columbarium Garden of St. Andrews Episcopal Church where the services will be held on May 28, 2022. at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Joey’s name, Dana Joey Jones to the St. Andrews Episcopal Church of Rogers, Arkansas.
