Sybil Hopkins Rinchuso Cope, age 88, of Pine Bluff, passed away Friday, September 23, 2022.

Born September 7, 1934 at Trumann, Ark., she moved to Pine Bluff as a child, and attended Pine Bluff High School and Pines Vocational-Technical School.

For 20 years, Mrs. Cope worked as supervisor of women at Hudson Pulp and Paper Company. She had also worked as a realtor, was an employee at National Bank of Commerce, and finally as a technical security supervisor at the Pine Bluff Arsenal for 15 years.

She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church for over 65 years. Mrs. Cope loved her children and grandchild­ren dearly. She loved God and her church, decorating, being with her friends, and laughter. She was also a very discipline­d and hard-working person.

Mrs. Cope was predecease­d by her husband of 45 years, Clint Cope, on January 12, 2016. Also preceding her in death are her step-father, Wallace McCoskey; her mother, Catherine Bell McCoskey; and her siblings, Carl Hopkins, Charles Hopkins, and Lawanda Thornton.

Survivors include a daughter, Rhonda Rinchuso Poppell Caraway of Houston, TX; a step-son, Gary Cope (Linda) of Little Rock; a step-daughter, Beverly Cope Howell (David) of Conway; two grandchild­ren: Johnny Poppell (Nichole) and Joseph Caraway; two great-grandchild­ren: Ava Poppell and John Poppell; and two step-grandchild­ren: Scott Howell and Andrea Howell Perkins (Riley).

The funeral mass will be Tuesday, September 27, 2022, 2 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father Joseph Marconi officiatin­g. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery by Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services.

Visitation will begin Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the church and continue until service time.
