age 81, of Little Rock passed away October 10, 2022. Jimmy was the son of H.E. and Mildred Rowe. He was born in Memphis, Tenn. Jimmy attended LR Central High and LR University (UALR). He graduated from Pines Vocational School in Pine Bluff. Having studied Architectu­ral Drafting, he went into commercial constructi­on and worked at Afco Steel, Central Structures, Matson Constructi­on and Wilkins Constructi­ons. He owned and operated Cherokee Constructi­on for 25 years.

Jimmy loved his church, Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Little Rock, where he belonged from 1956 until his death. He faithfully served on many committees. Jimmy loved playing softball for the church team for 25 years and was instrument­al in forming the Missionary Baptist Softball League.

He loved supporting his daughters in their many activities including band competitio­ns and coaching softball. Later in life, he loved watching his grandchild­ren participat­e in various sports. Jimmy’s love of the outdoors began early in his youth starting with many years in Boy Scouts where he reached the level of Eagle Scout. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, and boating. Jimmy belonged to the Old River Fishing Club and Oakdale Hunting Club.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nina; two daughters, Michele (Phil) Pickett of Bryant, Stacy (Greg) Crawford of Benton; five grandchild­ren, Tyler (Jordan) Pickett of Little Rock, Katelynn (Matt) Norton of Bryant, Landon (Megan) Pickett of Benton, Megan (Garrett) Misenheime­r of Little Rock, and Clay Crawford of Benton. He has two great-granddaugh­ters, Whitley Norton and Hadley Pickett. He is also survived by this brother, Carl Eugene (Pam) Rowe of Conway; several nieces and nephews; many cousins; and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Brenda Sue.

Visitation will be held at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 5300 Stagecoach Road, Little Rock, at 9 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2022. The funeral will follow the visitation and will begin at 10 a.m. The burial will be at Forrest Hills Cemetery, 10200 AR-5, Alexander and will immediatel­y follow the service.
