JONESBORO — A 15-0 run over 5:33 and spanning the third and fourth quarters gave Arkansas State control at First National Bank Arena on Saturday afternoon as the Red Wolves topped Utah State for their first win of the season against a Division I opponent.

Three players scored in double figures for ASU (2-2), led by 15 from Keya Patton and 12 from Mailyn Wilkerson. Izzy Higginbott­om didn’t make a three-pointer on five tries and shot just 4 of 16 from the field, but the Batesville native ended with 10 points, 4 rebounds — all on the offensive end — and 5 assists in 37 minutes.

Utah State (1-3) shot 10 of 22 on three-pointers, but the Aggies were just 9 of 38 inside the arc and committed 21 turnovers leading to 15 Red Wolf points.
