Michael Fred Byerly was born Nov. 12, 1960, in Star City, Ark., to George and Doris Laverne Carrington Byerly. He was a 1979 graduate of Pine Bluff High School, and was a Foreman for Evergreen Packaging, having worked there for over 33 years. Michael loved being outdoors, whether he was crappie fishing (for which he had won several trophies) or working in his yard or garage. He loved baseball, and for several years served as a Little League coach.

Michael loved his family and relished his role as a loving husband, father, and grandfathe­r. He was a gentle man who never met a stranger and was a friend to all.

Michael passed away unexpected­ly on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, George “Eddie” Byerly, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Iris, whom he married on Sept. 20, 2002, in Pine Bluff. He will also be missed by his daughters, Racheal Nelson and husband, Clay, Farrah Niezgoda and husband, Glenn, Mary Beth Byerly, Jennifer Stover, and Michelle Miles; six grandchild­ren, Madeline, Annison, Liam, Tanner, Ellie and Gavin; his step-father, Jim Lathrop; his step-brother, Jay Lathrop; best friends, Erick and Carline Tirado; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation with the family will be held 4-5 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son, followed by a celebratio­n of his life at 5 p.m., with the Rev. Josh Stacey officiatin­g.
