Mrs. Veter Thomas Howard ascended to her heavenly home on November 19, 2022. On December 22, 1949, Antee and Isaac Thomas, Sr., welcomed Veter as their first daughter. Veter attended Langston High School in Hot Springs and Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphi­a, Ark. After graduating from Ouachita Baptist University, Veter began her 35-year career of service to her communitie­s. In 1978, Veter married George Howard III. During their 44 years of marriage, Veter and George welcomed three amazing children: Jennifer Antee, George IV, and Jillian Alexandria. Veter retired in 2014, ending her illustriou­s career as Chief Deputy of the Arkansas Department of Community Correction­s.

Veter counts her acceptance of Jesus Christ as the most important event of her life. Veter’s family will host their Celebratio­n of her Life and Legacy of Love on Saturday, November 26, 2022, 11 a.m., Full Counsel Church, 517 South Cherry Street, Pine Bluff, Ark. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the UAPB Band Scholarshi­p Fund or the Lady J Foundation, Full Counsel Ministries.
