Cora Carpenter, 14, killed her first deer Nov. 5 in Montgomery County. She took the 5-point buck with a Mossberg Patriot Bantam Youth Model chambered in .243 Winchester and Hornady ammunition. According to Cora’s father Jeff Carpenter, Coke Zero, Wonderful Pistachios, Chips Ahoy, Apple iPhone and and Hot Hands handwarmers contributed significantly to Cora’s success.
