On Nov. 17, The Charlotte John Co. celebrated its 40th year of providing central Arkansas with an outstanding real estate experience. What started as an inconspicuous office in the Prospect Building in Little Rock has now transformed into an easily accessible office in the heart of The Heights. As a result of its teamwork-oriented environment and commitment to ethics, The Charlotte John Co. has set itself apart, and Charlotte John said she is extremely proud of her company’s trajectory.

“I am so grateful for everyone who came out to celebrate,” John said as she sat bundled up in a blanket looking out to the crowd of her employees. “I’ve missed them so much. They are all so much fun, and I am so happy and proud of them. I have trained over 150 people, and this has been my favorite group.”

John has taken a step back from her leadership duties but knows that the culture she has fostered throughout the past 40 years is strong enough to continue moving forward toward even more success.

Gayle Doll, a Realtor of 20 years, has been with John since 2009, and Doll said she is pleased to be part of such a loving environment.

“Charlotte is amazing,” she said. “We’re like a family; we can all count on each other and have each other’s backs. You know they talk about how women can’t work together, but that’s not true here — everybody’s wonderful.”

Another agent, Emily Young, began her real estate career nine years ago with John and also attested to enjoying her work because of the positivity that surrounds the office.

“We call ourselves a work family. We work closely together and support one another,” Young said. “That’s what has kept me here for so long; I’d never go anywhere else. I like the boutique feel of the company, and we have lots of one-on-one training. We call ourselves the CJC family. Charlotte does so much for us. I attribute my success to being with this company.”

Although John isn’t physically present as often these days, her 40 years of guidance, mentorship, influence and friendship are continuously felt through the hard work and dedication of her agents, and she hopes they carry on her legacy for many years to come.
