AUGUSTA — Jerry Alton England,

77, of Augusta, passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on November 26, 2022.

Jerry was a lifelong resident of Woodruff County where he was employed for 46 years at Sloan Valve and its predecessors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time on the White River throughout his life. As a lifelong Democrat, he had the highest hopes for Arkansas and his home county that he loved.

He is survived by his wife of over 47 years, Mildred (Hampton), his children, Martina England and Jerry England II, and his siblings, John and Barbara England.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gentry and Marie (Parker) England, and his brothers Billy Joe, George, Alvin “Ace”, and Harold England.

Services will be held at Powell Funeral Home in Augusta, Ark. Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m., with graveside services following immediately after at 3:30 p.m., in Augusta Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Alzheimer’s Association.
