SUN BELT WOMEN ARKANSAS STATE 102, McNEESE STATE 83

On the heels of the highest-scoring quarter in program history, Arkansas State topped 100 points for the first time in almost seven years and rolled to a win over McNeese State at the Legacy Center in Lake Charles, La.

Keya Patton was one of six Red Wolves to score double figures, scoring 20 points on 8-of-15 shooting off the bench. Mailyn Wilkerson added 12, all coming on three-pointers. ASU (4-3) made 11 of 29 three-pointers, going 7 for 9 in its 42-point first quarter alone.

Izzy Higginbottom scored 18, Lauryn Pendleton finished with 15, while Anna Griffin and Jade Upshaw each posted 10 points for ASU.

Trailing by as many as 34 midway through the second quarter, the Cowgirls closed to within 78-63 going into the fourth quarter as McNeese State (1-6) ended the third on a 16-6 run.

But the Red Wolves didn’t allow the hosts to get any closer as they scored the most points since scoring 107 against Louisiana-Monroe on March 5, 2014. ASU finished with 28 assists and 41 made field goals — both the second-most in a single game in school history.
