Soybean conference set Jan. 6 in Dumas
Taproot decline, nematodes and other issues facing soybean farmers will be addressed Jan. 6 at the annual Tri-State Soybean Conference in Dumas.
Agriculture experts from Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi will discuss soil fertility, efficient irrigation, advancements in applicator technology and pest management from 8 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the Dumas Community Center at 18 Belmont St.
Nematodes and taproot decline are expected to have a significant effect on soybean production next year, especially as it relates to drought conditions earlier this year, according to a recent University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension news release.
Soybean agronomists from the University of Arkansas, Louisiana State University and Mississippi State University will also hold a “state of the states” discussion.
The event is free to the public, lunch will be provided and no registration is required.
