OHIO VALLEY WOMEN AUBURN 70, UALR 48

A dominant 22-8 first quarter set the tone for Auburn as it eased to a comfortabl­e home win at Neville Arena in Auburn, Ala.

The Tigers held the University of Arkansas-Little Rock to 18-of-61 shooting, with freshman Faith Lee being the lone Trojan to score in double figures as she finished with 10 points.

Auburn (5-2) jumped out to a 14-4 lead in less than six minutes and never trailed. The Tigers were led by 20 points from Honesty Scott-Grayson and 18 from Romi Levy, who also pulled down 13 rebounds.

UALR (1-4) outrebound­ed Auburn 4841 but committed 17 turnovers and shot 12 of 21 at the free-throw line. Jaiyah Harris-Smith scored nine points for the Trojans and the trio of Angelique Francis, Tia Harvey and Sha’nequa Henry each added eight.

UALR has lost four straight games since winning its season opener against the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

OHIO VALLEY MEN SAN FRANCISCO 90, UALR 68

A 31-9 run by San Francisco over nearly 11 minutes to close the first half put the Dons in full control at War Memorial Gym as they kept the University of Arkansas-Little Rock at bay Wednesday night in San Francisco.

D.J. Smith led the Trojans with 16 points and Myron Gardner posted another double-double for UALR (2-6), finishing with 10 points and 11 rebounds. The Trojans committed 16 turnovers, leading to 21 Dons points.

San Francisco (7-1) scored 41 points off the bench and shot 13 of 32 on three-pointers. Five different Dons reached double figures — Khalil Shabazz poured in 16 for the hosts, adding 7 rebounds and 7 assists.

ASUN MEN LOYOLA-CHICAGO 85, CENTRAL ARKANSAS 70

The University of Central Arkansas fell Wednesday night as Loyola-Chicago shot 54.5% from the field at Joseph J. Gentile Arena in Chicago.

The Ramblers (3-4) were led by Ben Schwieger who scored 26 points, including six three-point shots. Braden Norris (19), Philip Alston (14) and Marquise Kennedy (13) each reached double-digits.

Eddy Kayouloud led UCA (4-4) with 21 points, followed by Collin Cooper with 13 and Camren Hunter with 11.

UCA trailed 35-31 at halftime. The Bears fell behind early as they started the game shooting 6 of 20, but they closed the half making six of their final 10 shots.

The Ramblers outscored the Bears 50-39 in the second half. Loyola-Chicago closed the game by making nine of its final 10 shots, including six three-pointers.

Loyola-Chicago made 52.2% of their three-pointers. Alongside Schwieger’s six makes, Kennedy and Norris each had 3 three-pointers.

UCA made 44.8% (13-29) of its shots from behind the arc, led by three apiece from Kayouloud, Hunter and Johannes Kirsipuu.

SWAC MEN AIR FORCE 81, UAPB 53

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Ethan Taylor had 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists as Air Force (5-3) continued its dominance over the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff on Wednesday night at Clune Arena.

Corbin Green finished with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 6 blocks while Jake Heidbreder added 11 points for the Falcons, who moved to 10-0 all time against the Golden Lions. Jeffrey Mills scored 10 points and handed out nine assists for Air Force.

Shaun Doss was the only player to land in double figures for UAPB (2-7), finishing with a game-high 21 points. The Golden Lions shot 33.9 % (20 of 59) from the field but missed all 14 of their three-point field goal attempts.

The Falcons, who were 27-of-50 (54%) shooting, led 41-23 at halftime and held a lead as big as 31 points in the second half.
