EMMET — Alice Marie Gentry Arnett,

84, of Emmet, Ark., passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022, in a Texarkana hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born in Maricopa County, Ariz., on May 20, 1938.

She graduated as the salutatori­an of her 1955 graduating class at Hope High School. She was also a graduate of Tyler Business College and attended Henderson State University. Alice dedicated 45 years of her career to the Arkansas Department of Human Services in numerous capacities. Alice was a bornagain Christian and member of Garrett Memorial Baptist Church in Hope, Ark.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph Byers Gentry and Gladys Reese Gentry, brothers, Paul R. Gentry and Billy Joe Gentry, and sister, Martha Gentry Calhoun. She is survived by her husband, Don H. Arnett of Emmet, Ark.; daughters, Kathie Arnett Rosenbaum (Randy) of Prescott, Ark., and Cindy Arnett Allen (Larry) of Texarkana, Ark.; grandchild­ren, Brianna Kae McCartney, Parker Layne Allen, Paisley Anne-Marie Allen, and great-grandson, Miles Layne Allen.

Services will be held at Brazzel-Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope, Ark., on Tuesday, November 29th at 2 p.m., with Rev. Roy Johnson officiatin­g. Visitation will begin at 1 p.mn. Burial will follow at Shover Springs Cemetery.
