Chief Apostle Dr. LAWRENCE E. BRAGGS SR.,

68, Little Rock, Ark. departed this life Dec. 23, 2022. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Delois J. Braggs and only begotten son Lawrence “BJ” Braggs Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Latasha Braggs, LaKiesha Braggs; siblings: Robert (Patricia) Kelly Jr, Ted (Chanda) Braggs, Larry (Angela) Braggs, Cynthia Taylor, four grandchild­ren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Apostle Dr. Lawrence E Braggs, Pastor & Founder of The Awareness Center Internatio­nal (formerly Trumpet and Zion Ministries), was born Oct. 3, 1954, in West Helena, Ark.

Dr. Braggs started in ministry as a musician, later becoming a pioneer in the Apostolic and Spiritual Awareness Movement in the state of Arkansas and the tri-state area. As a trailblazi­ng community leader, philanthro­pist, and activist, Dr. Braggs establishe­d multiple staples such as “Praises in the Park,” “Monday Night Gospel Skate Night,” “Club Resurrecti­on” “Destiny Daycare,” “Destiny School of Outreach” Sunday Night Deliveranc­e, Apostolic Connection, Unplugged W/Dr L. E. and so much more. Dr. Braggs will lie in state Wednesday, 3-6:30 p.m. with Pre-Celebratio­n beginning at 6:30 p.m. at ACIDI 900 S. Pine St. Little Rock, Ark.; Internatio­nal Celebratio­n of Life: Thursday, 6:30 p.m. at Second Baptist Church 1709 John Barrow Rd. Little Rock, Ark.
