His floater started an 8-0 run that put White Hall back ahead and guided it to a 34-32 lead at halftime, but the teams went back and forth after halftime. There were nine lead changes over the first 11 minutes of the second half before a Hayes’ jumper gave the Bulldogs a 6160 cushion with 2:59 left in the fourth quarter.

The Yellowjackets continued to battle and had a chance to either tie or win the game on the final possession. But Justin Crews, who had 20 points, missed a last-second shot.

Keaton Stone added 11 points for White Hall, which now owns a half-game lead over Sheridan for the final playoff spot in the 5A-South with two games left. The Yellowjackets have three games remaining.
