Bobby James Owen

Bobby James Owen, age 90, of Pine Bluff passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born June 14, 1932, in Star City, Ark., to James A. and Nezzie Lee Tucker Owen and was raised on their family farm in Wright, Ark. After graduating Plum Bayou High School, he joined the Army and served his country in the Korean conflict. Bobby was retired from General Waterworks and devoted his time to family and driving trips with friends. He was a member of Watson Chapel Baptist Church where he enjoyed his brotherhood Sunday school class.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Odie Kelley Owen.

Survivors include his sons, Ronny Owen and wife, Kaye, of Hope, Ark., and Jerry Owen and wife, Kim, of Plano, Texas; three sisters, Martha Myers of Amarillo, Texas, Janice Owen of Little Rock, Ark., and Annette Rodgers of Pine Bluff; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Brad (Jennifer) Owen, Carleigh, Christian and Cameron, Kelley (Jared) King, Owen Claire and Emmett, Jason (Arika) Owen, Paisley and Raven, and Jerry (Kortni) Owen, Olivia, and Baby Girl; and many nieces and nephews.

The family is grateful for the care given from the Area Agency on Aging, Assisted Care for Seniors, and Gentiva Hospice Care, with special appreciation for Mary Louise Polk and Terry Ogden.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Chapel, followed by funeral services at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Watson Chapel Baptist Church.

Carol Jane Walton, 62, of Monticello passed away on March 3, 2023. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Holmes Chapel Presbyterian Church in Monticello, Ark., with Minister Lashunda Jackson eulogist. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Campground Cemetery by Paradise Funeral Home of Pine Bluff. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. at Paradise Funeral Home of Monticello. “Only Paradise Can Serve You Better!”
