CENTRAL ARKANSAS 7, ARKANSAS STATE 4

A four-run seventh inning highlighted Central Arkansas’ late rally in a comefrom-behind win at Tomlinson Stadium in Jonesboro on Tuesday night.

Arkansas State (7-8) opened the scoring on Brandon Hager’s RBI groundout in the bottom of the first and then stretched its lead to 3-0 by the end of the second, scoring Daedrick Cail on Wil French’s RBI triple.

The Bears chipped away with a Kade Seldomridge solo home run in the fifth and A.J. Mendolia’s RBI single in the sixth before Hager homered to pull one back for the Red Wolves.

UCA (8-8) ultimately went in front in the seventh, getting two-run singles from Kolby Johnson and Mendolia to turn a 4-2 deficit into a 6-4 lead before adding an insurance run in the eighth. Cole Macrae and Tate Busey each pitched scoreless innings of relief to shut to door on ASU, with Busey picking up his second save for the Bears.

OHIO VALLEY

MEMPHIS 3, UALR 2

A sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth proved the difference for Memphis in a midweek matchup at Gary Hogan Field in Little Rock on Tuesday.

Shortstop Tyler Heckert put the Tigers up 2-0 in the fourth inning, but relief pitcher Austin Stubber entered to settle things down for UALR (9-5) before teammate Ty Rhoades launched the first home run of his collegiate career in the bottom of the seventh — the two-run shot tied things at 2-2.

Memphis (9-8) immediately answered, putting the first two batters on base before a one-out walk loaded the bases. R.J. Jimerson’s fly out scored Anthony Hansen with the game-winning run.

SWAC

EASTERN ILLINOIS 10, UAPB 5

A four-run fifth inning enabled Eastern Illinois to nab a road victory Tuesday over the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff at the Torii Hunter Baseball Complex in Pine Bluff.

Cole Gober went 2 for 4 with a home run for the Panthers, who took a 3-1 lead into that fifth until Logan Eickhoff’s run-scoring single started a flurry for Eastern Illinois (7-4). The Panthers pushed across a run in the sixth and two in the seventh to build a 10-2 advantage before UAPB (7-8) cut its deficit to five with three runs in the seventh.

Aidan Martinez had three hits, while Isaiah Cowens finished with three runs batted in for UAPB which had its threegame win streak come to an end.
