HAMILTON, Ala. — Jules “Dewitt” Shotts,

72, passed away on June 10, 2023. Dewitt will be remembered as a special person that was always full of life and laughter.

Dewitt moved to Arkansas as a young boy and spent most of his life in Little Rock.

As a teenager, he led Hall High School to the Arkansas state football championsh­ip in 1969. Dewitt was also a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church in Little Rock.

Dewitt enjoyed spending time with his daughters, Kinley and Parker. He loved sharing his passions and interests with his girls. To others he was a beloved friend and coach.

On the days he was not working hard, he loved to duck hunt and golf with his friends and business partners. He loved coaching junior high football at Holy Souls and always talked about his players and winning games.

Later in life, Dewitt relocated to Shottsvill­e, Ala. where members and friends of the Shotts family lived. He loved having space in the country to tend to his garden and to be with his beloved black labradors, Molly and Pete.

He is survived by his his two daughters, Kinley Shotts of Denver, Colo. and Parker Shotts of Fayettevil­le, Ark.; and his two brothers, Joe Shotts of Cabot, Ark., and Culber Mack Shotts Jr. of Paragould, Ark.

The family will hold a service and burial on Friday, June 16 at 11 a.m. at the Shottsvill­e Community Church and Cemetery in Shottsvill­e, Ala.

There will be a Celebratio­n of Life gathering on Monday June 19 at Our Lady of The Holy Souls Parish Hall in Little Rock from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
