RUBY AGNES LILLARD SHARP,

age 96, passed away on June 17, 2023. She was born in Vanndale, Ark., on March 25, 1927 to the late Jennings Clifton Lillard and Mary Jane McClintock Lillard. Agnes grew up in the small town of Upton-ville, Tenn., during the Great Depression where her family had a small store and farmed and raised chickens and hogs. Agnes attended school in nearby Mercer, Tenn., where she graduated high school in 1945. She later moved to Little Rock, Ark., and attended Draughon School of Business for Women. Agnes met her husband, Marshall Erskin Sharp, on a blind date and they later married in 1951. She worked for the highway department and later the bookkeeper/ secretary for Don’s Pharmacy in Little Rock, where she retired in 1988. She is survived by her 3 sons, Daniel Sharp of Dallas, Texas, Robert (Laura) Sharp of Little Rock, Ark., and Steven (Janell) Sharp of Melissa, Texas; daughter, Marcia Sharp Thompson of Little Rock, Ark.; grandchild­ren, Heath (Karrie) Sharp of Little Rock, Ark., Trisha (Travis) Sharp of San Francisco, Calif., Zachary (Jessica) Thompson of Little Rock, Ark., and Amanda Thompson of Little Rock, Ark.; 9 great-grandchild­ren; and a host of family and friends who will miss her deeply. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Dorothy Newberry of Arkadelphi­a and Lucille Miller of Bald Knob; and her sonin-law. A visitation will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2023 followed by a funeral service at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. Little Rock, Ark. Burial will follow the service at Calvary Cemetery, 3115 W Charles Bussey Ave, Little Rock, Ark. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith United Methodist Church, 9820 W.
