WHITE HALL — LaDell Burton Pittillo, 74,

peacefully went to her heavenly home August 6th, 2023. She was born in Pine Bluff, Ark., on September 24, 1948, and was the second daughter to her parents Bill and Clara (McCoy) Burton. LaDell married her high school sweetheart James “Buddy” Pittillo in 1969 and together they were the perfect example of marriage for 54 years. She graduated from White Hall High School in 1966 and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Education from Henderson State University and a Specialist Degree in Counselor Education from the University of Central Arkansas.

Like many of her family, LaDell shared the love of education and she spent her entire 31-year profession­al career as a teacher and counselor in the Pine Bluff School District. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her husband and close friends, and spent time in all 50 states. Known for her loving demeanor, she constantly looked for opportunit­ies to show she cared by writing hundreds of notes of encouragem­ent to friends and family. She was an active member of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church, where she attended for over 60 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson Isaac Timothy Pittillo who was the love of “Momma Dell’s” life. LaDell is survived by her husband James “Buddy” Pittillo of White Hall, two sons, Chad (Rebecca) and Scott (Dixie) both of White Hall that will cherish their precious mother forever, the best big sister, Glenda Burton Lybrand of White Hall, and a granddaugh­ter, Ramey Pittillo, who was the twinkle in her “Momma Dell’s” eye.

LaDell was so thankful for her caregivers and healthcare profession­als at CARTI and especially her Oncologist Dr. Tom Sneed who provided endless care and support for over 19 years.

A time of visitation with family and friends will take place in the Fellowship Hall of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church on August 9, 2023, from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m. with the service to follow at 11 a.m. in the church sanctuary by Robinson and Fuller White Hall Funeral Chapel. There will be a private burial at White Hall Methodist Cemetery.
