CROCKETTS BLUFF — Barbara Jean Baker McGilton,

74, passed away at her home in Crocketts Bluff, Ark., on August 5, 2023, surrounded by her family.

Barbara was born in DeWitt, Ark., on March 16, 1949. She graduated from Stuttgart High School in 1968. She was a homemaker and a member of Rising Sun Missionary Baptist Church in Almyra. Barbara loved animals and enjoyed fishing and reading. It’s been said many times that she never met a stranger.

She was preceded in death by her parents Charlie Joe and Alva Smith Baker of Crocketts Bluff; brother Steve Baker of Humphrey; sister Dorothy Crockett of Stuttgart; father-in-law Joe Raymond McGilton of Crossett; and mother-in-law Arlee Sinclair McGilton of Humphrey.

She is survived by her husband Kenneth Arnold McGilton; son Scott (Lisa) McGilton; daughter Bridgett (Hank) Howell all of Crocketts Bluff; three grandchild­ren Kaylee McGilton, Charlie and Breanna Howell; two sisters-in-law Vicki Baker of Humphrey and Barbara McGilton of Redfield; a great niece and two great nephews that were like grandchild­ren Haylee Crockett Ballard, Kohl and Jacob Crockett; two step-grandchild­ren; six step-great-grandchild­ren; nieces, nephews, friends, and church family of Rising Sun.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. at Rising Sun Missionary Baptist Church (Rising Sun Rd., Almyra Ark.).
