DeWITT — Eli Willie Wade Jr.

Also known as “Eli” or as we call him Wallace of DeWitt, Ark., transition­ed from this life Saturday, August 5, 2023 at his home.

Born September 20, 1952 in Pickens, Ark., he was the son of Flora Hall Eaglin and the late Eli Wade Sr. Eli was educated in the New Orleans Louisiana School System and Dumas Arkansas School Districts. Eli enlisted in the United States Army in 1974 and served until he was honorably discharged in 1977.

Eli attended vocational schools in McGehee, Ark. and Little Rock, Ark. Eli worked for many years as a mechanic for Adams Industrial Irons in DeWitt, Ark., Rice Land Foods of Stuttgart, Ark., and the City of New Orleans in New Orleans, La., and many others.

Eli loved his family, cracking jokes and working as a mechanic.

Eli was preceded in death by his Father; Eli Wade Sr., Two Brothers; John Wade and Alvin Wade and One Sister; Deborah Stewart. Eli leaves to cherish his memory; His Mother; Flora Hall Eaglin of New Orleans, La., One Daughter; Jeanette Boston of Jonesboro, La., Four Sisters; His Care giver for Many years; Delores (Louis) Nixon of Marvell, Ark., Lenora LeDent of Englewood, Calif., Jean (Tony) Ridgle of Little Rock, Ark., and Tanya (Sedrick) Thomas of New Orleans, La., One Brother; Roy Lee (Felicia) Wade of Orange, Texas, Five Grandchild­ren and A very special cousin that was like a son; Marcus Croom of Dumas, Ark. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to cherish his memories.

Graveside Service; Friday, August 11, 2013 at 11 a.m. at The Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. Visitation Thursday in Dumas, Ark. from 5 to 6 at Mitchevill­e Headquarte­rs.
