ARKADELPHI­A — Austin Wingfield,

age 91, of Arkadelphi­a, passed from this life on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at CHI St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock. He was born August 19, 1932, in Okolona, the son of the late Raymond Eric and Clarabel Hall Wingfield. Austin had the State Farm Agency in Arkadelphi­a since 1957. He was a former member of Arkadelphi­a Fire Dept., Arkadelphi­a City board member, current chair of Davidson Campground, Sunrise Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow, past president of the Jaycees, past Master of Arkadelphi­a Masonic Lodge #381, and a thirty-second degree Scottish Rite Mason. Austin was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Dale and Ezra Wingfield; two sisters: Glendean Roberson and Christine Wagner. Survivors are his wife, Ola Merle Wingfield of Arkadelphi­a; one son, Roger Wingfield and his wife, Kadre; two grandsons: Layne and Clark Wingfield; one sister, Hazel Peters of Arkadelphi­a; two brothers: Ray Wingfield and his wife, Hilda, of Arkadelphi­a, and Bert Wingfield and his wife, Jacque, of Arkadelphi­a; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Third Street Baptist Church, with Rev. Kyle Peters, Rev. Zeke Allen, and Rev. Greg Lathem officiatin­g. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the church. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearer­s are Fred Swafford, Blake Batson, Ricky Arnold, Kevin Hale, Joel Hollingswo­rth, Larry Ottwell, and Gary Brinkley.
