BENTONVILL­E — William Henry “Hank” Henderson,

father, son, brother, musician, sportsman, and friend, passed away unexpected­ly on October 14, 2023, at the age of 60 at his home on Beaver Lake.

Hank is survived by his daughters, Sarah Beth, Hannah McKenzie (Connor), and Hailey Santos (Seth); his sister, Jody Baggett (Keith); his mother and father, Mary and Billy Henderson; nephews, Tanner and Taylor Baggett; and grandson, Hayes Santos.

He is predecease­d by his maternal grandparen­ts, Sidney and Clementine Herren; and paternal grandparen­ts, Carmon Henderson and Pearl Henderson Sears.

Hank was born on July 8, 1963, in Little Rock, Ark., to Billy and Mary Henderson. He grew up in England, Ark., with close friends and family, and graduated from England Academy. He attended the University of Central Arkansas, and he was an alumnus of the Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity, where he served as Vice President. Hank received the distinguis­hed alumnus award for UCA, he was a member of the Purple Circle, and a member of the UCA Foundation board for four years.

Hank served as CEO of America’s Car-Mart, where he worked for over 30 years. Hank was an avid businessma­n, and was dedicated to contributi­ng to the developmen­t of northwest Arkansas.

Hank was a devoted father to his three girls. He was a talented musician, and an active member of the music community in Arkansas. He loved playing music with his band, Cousin Smitty, which he formed with his cousin and close friend Scott Herren, who passed away in 2021. Hank loved to spend time in the outdoors, whether it be hunting in Stuttgart, skiing and hiking in Crested Butte, Colo., or on Beaver Lake.

A private ceremony for close friends and family will be held on Thursday morning. The family is hosting a public celebratio­n of life on Thursday, October 19th at 4 p.m. at the Meteor Guitar Gallery, downtown Bentonvill­e. Friends and family are welcome to drop by to honor Hank’s life.
