Little Rock clinic excels at getting under readers’ skin
Beauty may be skin deep, but a healthy epidermis can be the key to a long, fulfilling life. One local clinic strives to help its patients understand and treat their skin.
Pinnacle Dermatology in Little Rock has been named Best Dermatology Clinic in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette’s Best of the Best readers’ poll. Additionally, Andrea Mabry, M.D., has been named Best Dermatologist in the poll.
“We feel that this award is mostly a testament to how much our entire clinic cares about our patients and tries to make their experience with us positive,” said Jani Gillman, clinic and finance administrator. “We also strive to stay up to date on the latest treatment options for patients so we can treat patients with greater and greater success.”
The clinic has three board-certified dermatologists who treat patients with the utmost care. Those dermatologists include Mabry, along with Kayla Mohr, M.D., and Marla Wirges, M.D. Pinnacle Dermatology, which has been in business for seven years, also has three certified physician assistants who are highly trained in dermatology to assist doctors in managing clinic patients.
“Our mission is to provide the highestquality patient care by offering the best in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatologic services,” Gillman said. “We advocate for healthy skin through the prevention and treatment of dermatologic conditions.”
Mabry said she is proud of the clinic’s success and the hard work of her fellow doctors and staff. She was drawn to the practice because of the challenging work and the impact she has on patients’ lives.
“[I love] helping a patient feel more comfortable in their skin — literally,” she said. “Patients are often embarrassed, selfconscious or scared about their skin concerns when they come see us. I aim to ease their discomfort, while addressing any underlying medical issues.”
Pinnacle Dermatology treats a variety of medical and surgical conditions and even offers a selection of cosmetic treatments.
In the community, the clinic’s doctors participate in educational seminars with local schools and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences residency programs. Wirges and Mohr also work at the John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital, where they treat patients and train resident dermatologists. The office offers an Angel Tree during the holidays and is a donation location for The Van and The Call charities at various times of the year.
